An education loan covers tuition, hostel and living costs, and related expenses for higher studies, with repayment usually beginning after the course ends plus a grace period. RUKKU helps families in the Kongu region arrange these loans for Indian and overseas courses.
Timing is what goes wrong with education loans. Admission letters arrive with tight deadlines, and a file started late means a term fee paid out of savings or borrowed elsewhere. If your child is applying this year, start the loan conversation before the offer arrives, not after.
Loans up to a threshold are typically given without collateral; larger amounts, especially for overseas courses, generally require property or a deposit as security along with a co-applicant, usually a parent.
Documentation covers two people at once — the student's academic and admission details, and the income of the parent or co-applicant who is backing the loan.

Education Loan — common questions
Yes. Interest accumulates through the course even though instalments have not started. Some lenders offer a concession if you service the interest during this period, which meaningfully reduces the total repaid.
Generally yes — accommodation, a maintenance allowance and travel can be built into the sanctioned amount, provided the lender's estimate for that country supports the figure.
Speak to the lender before the first instalment falls due. An extension of the moratorium is often possible when it is requested in advance; it is much harder after a payment has been missed.
